Austin Theatre Alliance

In October of 2000, Paramount Theatre for the Performing Arts, Inc. and State Theater Company formed a new organization called Austin Theatre Alliance (ATA). Austin Theatre Alliance continues the tradition of presenting and producing the best theatre, dance, film, concerts and more in a variety of historic and renovated facilities in Austin, Texas, USA.

What is the Austin Theatre Alliance?

Austin Theatre Alliance brings the best of two theatrical organizations together. Paramount Theatre for the Performing Arts, Inc., a presenting theatre, and State Theater Company, a resident professional theatre company, will create synergies, efficiencies, and possibilities greater than either entity could achieve alone. ATA draws audiences from throughout Central Texas to downtown Austin to experience performances; live theatre, dance, concerts, children's programs, as well as acting classes, films, and many more opportunities for everyone. The intimate settings, historic downtown location and extraordinary programs make for moments of exploration and discovery, opening hearts and minds to the unbridled beauty of the performing arts.

Austin Theatre Alliance is more than facilities and organizations. It is about people who nurture and celebrate artistic expression by uniting audiences and artists who believe that the performing arts, in its many forms, add to the lives of Austin's citizens. ATA believes that these programs should be accessible to everyone.

The Theaters
The Paramount Theatre and State Theater will present local and national productions of theater, music, dance and film in four downtown theater spaces:
• Historic Paramount Theatre (1300 seats),
• State Theater (350 seats),
• The new Horton Foote Theater (approximately 100 seats)
• A cabaret theater (a future project) in the basement of the State Theater Company building.

Austin Theatre Alliance brings, the best of the performing arts to Austin by presenting:
• Renowned local, national and international artists whose works include plays (drama,    comedy), musicals, dance, film (including film series, festivals and premiers), lectures, stand-up comedy and concerts.
• A diverse array of world-class works from many cultures and perspectives
• Work at other venues in Austin and the surrounding areas
